Barbara Barnhart is the Program Coordinator of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, where she teaches courses in biology and biopsychology. A past recipient of both the Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award and the Distinguished Service Award, her work reflects a strong commitment to student-centered education. Her scholarship focuses on science education, particularly argumentation and counterargumentation through socioscientific issues, and she serves as a co–Principal Investigator on a National Science Foundation S-STEM grant supporting first-generation and rural students in developing their scientific identity. She also serves as the primary contact for students pursuing Pre-Physician Assistant pathways.
